This page will give you a rough guide as to how the cars are built and the type of equipment the drivers use.

Greg Moore #287

The only cars permitted are front engined rear wheel drive four seater saloon cars based on standard steel production.

Safety is the number one priority in any motor sport, from Go-Karts to Formula One and Outlaw Hotrods are no exception.

To be able to race you must have the right safety equipment otherwise you will not be permitted to race. A driver must provide a crash helmet. All helmets must be of a minimum standard as directed by British Oval Racing Safety Executive (B.O.R.S.E). These are BS6658/85 Type A, BS6658 Type A/FR, FIA8860-2004, Snell SA2000, Snell SA2005, SFI Foundation 31.1A, SFI Foundation 31.2A. The E2205 European standard helmet may be used in Fibreglass or Tri-Composite form only.

Each race car must have a roll cage to protect the driver in the event of the car overturning. A full roll cage to the following specification must be securely bolted and\or welded to the floor. All tubes must be made of steel and must be of a minimum diameter of 1 1\8"with a minimum wall thickness of 1 1\8" (1\8" = .125")

The engine specification which the Outlaws run are made up of three types of engines which are:

  Vauxhall C20XE 2.0 Litre 16 valve D.O.H.C.

 VW ABF 2.0 Litre 16 valve D.O.H.C.

Ford Zetec NGA 2.0 Litre 16 valve D.O.H.C.

The engine that is used is entirely up to the driver but the most common engine for use is the  Vauxhall C20XE 2.0 Litre 16 valve D.O.H.C.
